We had a wonderful wine tour and wine tasting at San Lucas. Our tour guide was wonderful. We had lunch after the wine tasting at the San Lucas restaurant which was a short walk from the vineyard. You pass a chapel on the way and there’s great points to stop for pictures. The food was some of the best we’ve had in SMA and was located in the most amazing setting.
We did wine tasting tour. Really nice place. Good experience if you are visiting San Miguel de Allende.
Alejandro was our tasting guide and he was fantastic. The tasting experience was easily the best we’ve ever experienced in the many wineries and wine tours we have ever been on. I would strongly recommend that if you are in this area that you take time to go to the tasting tour and I would recommendseeing Alejandro if you are an English speaker. The wines are fantastic and when paired with his tasting menu are even better.
This was an amazing winery! The grounds were fantastic, the tasting room was stunning and it was the best wine tasting we have ever had.
A place with a lot of tranquility and beauty to the surroundings. Cycling everywhere. Food with little fat and very delicious. Excellent decoration in the rooms. Good atmosphere to relax in the SPA and in general throughout the voneyard. They must taste all the wines of the house.
The winery tour was very thorough and informative, although tour and tasting sizes can be quite large (ours was 25+ people). English speakers should be aware the tour is in Spanish (we are in Mexico after all!). The wines were served with thoughtful pairings. If you’re someone who has been to quite a few winery tours in your day I’d recommend booking a lunch reservation and soaking in the views over a glass of wine instead of the formal tour, that’s what I’ll do next time I’m in San Miguel. It’s an absolutely gorgeous property- definitely worth a visit!
The food was excellent. The chicken was VERY big but very salty chicken even for my taste - and I like my salt so still tasted fine. It is on the more expensive side. Very romantic setting. I didn't know there were several vineyards at this location when booking (their San Francisco vineyard is on the same land/site) but San Lucas' Italian restaurant was an excellent choice. There's a dock that's very scenic as is the restaurant building. The staff were accommodating. Note to staff: please leave the cat alone. He's so friendly. Unfortunately, we couldn't take him home. The flies bothered us more - but I realise there's nothing that can be done about the flies
Gorgeous vineyard and great wine. This place is a gem. We’ve been to many wineries in Europe and this place has absolutely nothing to envy those vineyards. The grounds are beautiful and the wine tour was short but delightful. Wines are great and so is the food. Don’t miss this jewel.
